I have a request of those of you on my f-list. While on the surface it might appear that I'm asking for an act of Piracy on the High Seas of the Internets, the reality is quite different.
In order to test out a theory, I'm hoping to find several of you who would be willing to volunteer yourself and your computer time. The exercise, at it's core, is purely academic and may well help to change policy that would benefit authors and publishers alike.
You do not need to consider yourself technically astute to participate. It won't hurt, but I'm interested in having people of varying technical experiences and history participate.
If any of ye scallywags be interested, ye need not dress as me favorite pirate above -- but feel free if it gets you in the mood.
Email me @ f i v e c @ t a t g m @ i l dot com and I'll provide the full particulars. If it sounds like something you're interested in, let me know and I'll give you your assignment in a follow-up email.
Time involved? Probably an hour, tops, should do it. (More if you really get into it)
Many thanks in advance.
(And special thanks to
