Celebrating Seven Remaining Lives

Last week was an emotionally exhausting one where we spent too much time trying to convince ourselves the best the would happen while not-so-secretly dreading the worst.
Jacques and his brother, Maxx, usually spend most of their days racing from room to room, rolling around playing their version of CalvinBall. Token naps are taken from time to time, but Jacques, especially, is an active boy.
Two weeks ago on Thursday he spent most of the day sleeping by Bonn. When he started doing the same thing on Friday, she got worried enough to call the vet. One appointment and an exchange of pertinent information later, Jacques had been tentatively diagnosed with an intestinal blockage that required surgery NOW.
That surgery didn't turn up any blockages, but it did show a number of enlarged, malformed lymph nodes. That meant one of two things: the treatable toxoplasmosis or the not-so treatable lymphoma. The vet sent out a biopsy for testing and the week-long wait began.
The rest of the story is over there, ( a click on through to the other side away... )
