So Bonn picked me up at work right on schedule Thursday night and after a brief detour to pick up a rental car we headed up I-85 to I-95 towards Alexandria, VA, our destination for the first night out.

Somewhere along that route I took the image above, which is really far more indicative of the following night on the road.

Bonn has a habit of occasionally putting in fairly ridiculously low bids for older Volvos on eBay. Last week she put in a $350 bid that didn't get outbid. Even with the $150 paperwork charges the small NJ dealership is charging, it's still a working Volvo for around $500, which is pretty danged good.

We're driving up to DC tonight, to Trenton tomorrow and back down to Bal'mer. Saturday we're meeting up with my parents and going out to an old family manor tracked down via our genealogical studies and then making the return trip home.

Busy weekend with lots of miles to travel. Hopefully we'll fare better than last time (car dying outside of Richmond, VA on a Sunday afternoon. *shudders*)

Oh, and I have a second-round interview scheduled for Tuesday afternoon!
