Day 08→A photo that makes you angry/sad

I still love that Bjornie-o dog of ours. He didn't get the life he deserved and despite rescuing him from a cruel death when he was less than a year old, I still blame myself for not giving him a better life. He asked for so little but due to family politics -- it's difficult to convince a gang of cats (or "anti-christs" as Bjorn called them) to be reasonable with a large-ish dog (or "monster-mouth" as the cats called him) -- he was never fully integrated into the Inside World of the family.

I know he's up a the Crab Shack where he's able to play ball, play with & in the water and get all of the cheesy macaroni and eggy-cheesy biscuits he can eat. I just hope when I get up there he's forgiven me for my failings as a Papa.

i know bjorn is happy and just waiting for me to meet up with him and play Ball and Water with him like we used to.

i'm the one having a hard time forgiving myself, that's all.

it was more the b@s†@rd down the road that we freed him from. and, yes, he was certainly grateful.

i just wish we'd been able to give him the full Life With the Pack that he wanted and deserved.

i know what you mean. after my divorce, i had to give my dog away. i tried living with him in the apartment and i got him outside every day to run around, but he had SO much energy and demanded SO much more time and attention than i could give him when i had to work out of the house again. :( i gave him back to the breeder, and he is the king of the pack now, a champion and a papa, so i take solace in that. :)

it still was not easy and does make me kinda sad to think of how i couldn't keep him.

i think he understood and is much happier now. i bet if you were to visit him he'd remember you with all great fondness and lick your face like crazy.

splendid he was. even regal at times, in the best of ways.

he loved his family -- even the "little antichrists" who would slash out an make his nose suddenly start bleeding.
