Maggie Looking Down

Maggie Looking Down

October 2007

____________________________________

We're off for a three day show in Richmond, VA at (be still [livejournal.com profile] basefinder's heart!) the Richmond Raceway. The show is stretched across three connected buildings, one of which has a huge, gaudy racecar painting across a part of one wall. Just for you, [livejournal.com profile] basefinder I'll take and post a picture.

I've been doing lots of shutter clicking lately. Much of it's been posted to the various flickr accounts, but nothing much has made it here. The weeks before these three day shows are more than full and busy.

In the meantime, I'll leave you with one of my favorite cat portraits of late. And, yes, as [livejournal.com profile] victory_rose pointed out in a flickr comment, I took slight creative liberites with Maggie's eyes. (The shot was about at a 1/15 second, handheld and slightly blurred. Maggie's eyes were more washed out than they should have been)

Have a safe weekend, y'all.

bonn has used symbols instead of letters & words in the past. they tend to engage the customer a bit more than words, at least as far as rings are concered for us.

i found a place online in scotland that advertises "vegetarian haggis" although i really wonder just how vegetarian it can be.

i am planning on being far more adventurous this year with food than last. last year i managed to somehow forget my nexium, which made for an increasingly difficult (and expensive) three weeks (downing generic tagamet every few hours). if nothing else, i'm hoping i'll have some interesting LJ posts from the food!

David & Emily just got back from Japan. I had lunch with her today. She was telling me she spent some time just photographing her food because it was so interesting. A new career perhaps, food travel writer....

I will never spell this right, but generally it's e-pilori that causes the need for nexium. chicken is a big offender. i'll ask my pal Sally where else that bacteria is found in the food world... also how to spell it....

i didn't think they were due back for another week or so. i hope they had a great time.

real foodies always take pictures of their food when going out to eat, especially in different countries. (maybe i'll have to try it in mcdonalds this year)

my doctor (and i) thinks nexium is just masking something far more sinister in my system. it doesn't always work, which isn't right and if i don't take it on a daily basis i start having trouble within a few hours. that's not right, either.

now if i can just find time for the awful tests they want to have done on me to see what else might be going wrong in my stomach...

my brother went through this stomach / bowel/ intestine thing. he finally went to an excellent alternative doc and totally cleared the problem. there are a variety of bacterias, or is it bacterium, that can cause these issues. he takes some kind of pill which is not nexium. it's an herbal supplement thing and he has no issues at all. since i only play a doc on tv, i can only pass along the experiences of others... i drank vinegar for a year and cleared mine up....

they had a great time. Em also spent time taking pictures of manhole covers. that's a subject of great interest to me.
