Not only had the paint chipped off in large quantities but -- and I forgot to mention this -- the plastic clips that held them in place either to the gutters or under the shingles were brittle to the point of falling apart if I touched them the wrong way.
Our lights may have the UL Seal of Approval, but your lights must be made to stricter Canadian standards that factor in the colder extremes. :-)
