When I was a young kid I was playing with some friends a block down from where we lived. From down the street I could see another kid, the one who lived next to The Axeman, riding his bike towards us. Not slowing down, he hit the curb head-on.

And flipped himself and his bike, @ss-over-head.

Even though I didn't have the language to express it, I understood that I had just seen a very valuable physics lesson. I could see the bicycle flip again in my head, with arrows pointing out the force meeting an unmovable object and the axel-as-pivot-point that caused the flip.

I also wondered, what kind of idiot does it take to flip a bicycle @ss-over-head?
