Bags are being packed, plans have already been made to meet up with the ever-so-generous

Last year my time there was plagued by a lack of stomach meds. Somehow forgotten at home, this meant that my stomach was under constant siege and my eating habits were kept relatively bland and uneventful. This year, however, one of my goals is to become more gastronomically adventuresome during our time abroad.
And that's where you come in.
I'm looking for suggestions of food that I should try while in Scotland. Keep in mind that I'm a pesky vegetarian and we're on a somewhat limited food budget. (This means NO HAGGIS. Period. I don't care if they're trying to call it "Vegetarian Haggis", it's still a NO. I mean, what are they going to cook it in? An inflatable rubber glove?)
Fish and seafood are both okay, however.
(Our next door neighbor referred to us as Cuteatarians. "I get it -- you don't eat anything cute!")
I've already perused GirlAlive's "British Food Experience" pages and have some items picked out to keep an eye out for.
Suggestions, Recommendations and Things to Avoid are all greatly appreciated!
