An image for [livejournal.com profile] peregrinus236.  The hammock behind Maggie is one we bought from Twin Oaks people at a show we did several years ago.  It's still just a sturdy and comfortable as the day we bought it.

There are some days when small things become so wonderous as to make the noise of the rest of the world fade into the distant background.

One such instance -- when a much anticipated second season not only meets expectations but far surpasses them.  And, not just once, but twice.

Little Britain S2 was just released on DVD and with the exception of Emily Howard now having a "lady friend" to accompany her on her outings, the second season is ab-so-fugging-ly brilliant.  I had laughed myself to the point of needing catch my breath several times before I'd even had the first margaritta of the evening.  Cor, blimey.

Deadwood S2 was also just released.  Yes, it's a bit more sexually overdone than necessary, but this is one of those rare dramas where so many diverse elements come together in such a cohesive way as to just amaze me.  I'm not much of a drama fan -- I think it's even harder to do than comedy in many ways because writing, acting and directing rarely come together in such a way as to be believeable.  (Then again, I could just be a cynical old b@stard these days)  Deadwood gets it spot-on.

Another such instance?  Two letters in the mail from [livejournal.com profile] sakkijarvi.  I've said before that he's a rare friend and I'll happily say it again: He's a rare friend.

I'm thinking I'm mighty blessed these days.
