It was a beautiful day outside today -- well into the 70s with no humidity to speak of and sunny skies. Bonn and I took a walk around the neighborhood this afternoon to enjoy some of it. We walked through our neighborhood park, where there were still small piles of plowed snow in the parking lot, as a reminder of the snows we had just a week ago today.
I both received an email from The Axeman and responded to it today. In it I griped and complained pretty badly and mentioned my deep reluctance to see anything as a sign from God anymore. So, on the walk Bonn spotted a bluebird flying around until it landed in a tree so we could admire him. Just before that I found a Christmas-y jingle bell in the street and gave it to her. Bonn, always more the believer in signs than I, took both to be good signs. On such a beautiful day it was tempting to believe, too, but I'm afraid my cynical twice-burnt side is a bit to gun-shy for any of that quite yet.
Maybe after I get a better paying job with better benefits.
And, yes, I realize that I sound like an old, boring broken record.
Happy New Year everybody. I hope it's a far better one for us all than the one we just left behind.
