Cats and Crab

Our cats like a variety of seafood. Salmon is okay, but only if it's poached and then blackened in my cajun & wine maranade. Shrimp of all kinds are good, whether I've sauted them in butter and garlic, or if they're taken straight out of a chinese take-out container.
The hands-down favorite, however, is crab.
Tonight, being New Years, we broke out the crab we'd had in the freezer for a few months just for this occasion. There was a time that I actually tried to eat crab with them, but after being surrounded by a semi-circle of cats all giving me dirty looks for eating their crab, I gave up. Eventually they all get full and, with any luck, there will be some left for me to eat.
Hader, who has been featured here many times, is the main crab lover. He will eat and eat and eat until, finally, he'll stop and look up. He gets a very sad, disheartened look on his face as he knows he's too full to keep eating, but there's still some crab left. Tonight he simply turned around and couldn't face the remaining crab for several minutes. Eventually he turned around and, with a little prodding from me, caught a brief second wind.
That, followed by two hours in my lap while we watched the latest King Arthur movie, made for an almost perfect night for him.
May we all have crab -- or whatever crab is to us -- to our heart's content this year.
(And, yes, there are only three cats in the picture, but there were six on the table for most of the time. Try feeding an assembly line of cats and taking pictures at the same time)
