My Nephew and a Specialist in Zürich

Having no new pictures to use to post an entry with I quickly grabbed some old image CDs on the way out of the house, hoping to find something in them that would be appropriate. Finding nothing with feathers, I opted for another image from the series of shots I took of my beloved cat, Ani (of last weekend's all-night drive), that I use as my default avatar. I couldn't get the line separating Ani's fur from the sky from not "glowing" a little so I just chose to exaggerate it. Sloppy post-camera editing, to be sure, but I'll say I like the effect and leave it at that.
My normal path home takes me right in front of the oldest shopping mall in the city. Last night while driving home I ran into the worst traffic in front of it that I'd seen since last Christmas. As it was crawling, ever so slowly, I realized that I was feeling something very different. Something I hadn't felt in what seemed like a very long time.
I mentioned it to Bonn when I got home. She smiled and nodded. "You mean that feeling of unexplained happiness?" she asked.
"Yeah," I said.
It was, in fact, hope.
[Okay, so I've made two literary references in this posting. First person to (a) accurately post the quotes and (b) attribute them to the correct authors gets a picture posted in their honor, their choice of subject -- within reason. Oh, and no fair Googling!]
