LJ silence = Way too much time banging my head against the brick wall that is Writing a Query. It should be so very simple. Alas.

My mother had surgery on Monday. I'm driving up to Maryland on Wednesday afternoon to spend a few days with them and help relieve some of the stress of the situation. They're both in their 70s and get around well on their own. (In fact, my father is living out his life-long dream of being a paid tennis bum, working at the local tennis bubble several days each week) I expect my mother will be sleeping much of the time I'm there, so I'm taking a scanner and planning on spending some time with the old family albums.

Bonn is staying home with the cats. This will be the first time we've been apart for several days in well over ten years.
