When booking rooms for the week before our timeshare week in Kinnloch Rannoch, Bonn had initially found us a nice place in Edinburgh. Edinburgh seemed wonderfully historic and filled with enough old brick back streets to keep us happily filled with days and days of exploring and adventuring.
A few weeks later we were notified that the woman who had offered the room was having to take it out of availability due to illness in the family. This meant, for Bonn, a chance to re-think our first week in Scotland.
As I recall it, our only experience with Perth the previous year had been two trips to Tesco. Tesco, as it turns out, is just half a block away from the roundabout on the A9 at Perth, so all we actually saw of Perth was Tesco, the Tesco petrol station and a large DIY-ish store across the street.
I do remember after passing the Perth roundabout during the drive from Kinnloch Rannoch to Edinburgh we drove on for another 10 minutes or so and saw some beautiful churches and castles way off to our left.
I'm thinking that somewhere in Bonn's mind she associated the two together. That would explain why she went online to our leasing agency and booked us a flat in Perth for the week instead of searching for another place in Edinburgh.
