A Good Night's Sleep

Since re-depositing The Boy at UNC-Surf on Sunday, Bonn and I have had a wonderful time. The house, when cleaned, actually stays clean. Rooms are left one way before we go to bed look the same when we get up in the morning. The sink has exactly the same dishes in or around it come the first light of day as were there at lights out. Just incredible.
We've also taken to eating at the dining room table. At a leisurely pace. Without a care in the world that a bottomless pit of hungry adolescence will descend upon the food like a swarm of locust, leaving mere scraps in it's wake.
No, really. Just incredible.
Last night we did a simple spaghetti and garlic bread dinner -- by candlelight -- and talked about our day. Just before we sat down Bonn put on Bruce Cockburn's "Christmas" CD, letting it play quietly in the livingroom.
"Christmas" starts with a very quiet, all-too brief accoustic version of "Adeste Fidelis" and then launches right into a rousing, barn dance version of "Early on One Chirstmas Morn". At a low volume, however, it's still nice dinner music.
Now, I don't know if it was the spaghetti sauce and the garlic bread or if it was the red wine I had with dinner and the frozen margarita I had while I was making dinner or the two pieces of chocolate cake I had after dinner... but my stomach wasn't very happy with me by the time I went to sleep.
( Or, rather, tried to go to sleep... )
