One of the side consequences of driving down in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday had to do with the way we drove down. Since we were both driving separate cars and were unable to talk to each other to help keep one another awake we both ended up driving with various windows open hoping that the cold air would keep us awake. By the time we'd driven 5 hours or so like that we'd both worked ourselves into something of a head cold. Combine that with the notion that we'd both been fighting various illnesses off for a while -- all of which seized upon this opportunity to make their move -- and we spent a long morning Saturday sleeping.
Bonn is far too Type A (borderline workaholic) to enjoy sleeping in. Too much military brat upbringing with a Sergeant Major father bellowing about the amount of work you do in a day being somehow equal to your relative worth as a human being for the day. (Yeah, I know...) Me, sleeping in is a luxury that I revel in.
Now, granted, sleeping is one of those things that you can't enjoy while you're actually doing it. You have to enjoy the experience in the past tense, being only aware of that time you've "missed" since falling asleep.
All that to say Bonn got up somewhere around 10:30am on Saturday. I woke up, fell back to sleep and crawled out of bed around 3:30pm, not feeling like I'd missed a thing.
Second-round of the interview comes tomorrow and I'm trying hard to stay balanced about it. I have good feelings about the job, but I have to keep them all in check in case things don't work out (again).
